I saw a copy of Demolition Man some time ago an noticed a strange thing. I went home and dubblechecked my copy and realized that there where something wrong. Demolition Man Taco Bell / Pizza Hut (3)

In the resturant scen where Sylvester Stallone is thanked by Nigel Hawthorne (Dr. Raymond Cocteau)for saving his life, the name of the resturant is different in the two copies.

In my copy it´s called Taco Bell but in my friends copy it´s called Pizza Hut.

I´m 100 percent sure on this and I´m just curious if someone else has noticed this and for what purpose this is done!?
The only reson I can come up with is sneak-commercial, but that doesn´t sound very likely to me. Demolition Man Taco Bell / Pizza Hut (4)

It's true alright.
Taco Bell and Pizza Hut are both owned by Pepsico. They wanted their special bit of product placement to be relevant everywhere the film was shown, but in places like Australia there is no Taco Bell (or there wasn't at the time). I don't think Taco Bell was outside the US at all, at the time.
So they changed the decals and edited the scenes.
And they could have spent that money on making the film less crap instead.

Other Pepsico trivia; In Australia Pizza Hut and KFC franchises are allowed to sell Coca Cola as well as or instead of Pepsi, despite having Pepsico as a parent company. Why? Because too often Aussies just refused to drink the stuff and it was hurting business (to say nothing of having to buy the stuff as part of the franchise). They couldn't give it away. Having special pizza offers with big bottles of pepsi delivered alongside would too often result in the Pepsi being refused at the door. "Pizza, ...cheers. Garlic bread...ta'. Cheesecake,... cheers. Pe... ...nah you can keep that sh*t."

hehehe (yeah this belongs in the "pointless crap that I know" thread)

PepsiCo is soooo much better then co*ke. They are rapidly losing ground to Pepsi in atlanta (where co*ke was started and we have a 3 story building dedicated to the legacy of co*ke). Mountain Dew is soooo much better tehn Surge its not even funny. Pesi > co*ke. Hands down.

Taco bell kicks ass... You can drive up and order something with no idea what yer getting, although its always enough to feed a family for less than ten bucks.

Pity we dont have them in the UK either....

But it was Taco Bell in the film though. Just thought at the time it was a name they made up for the film.
