To validate what we already knew, we tasked a widely used SEO GPT, well-trained on all our website content, to generate a page title and meta description for our homepage. "Widely used" is the most concerning phrase here. The results are laughable.Do not use these tools for core SEO tasks. Seriously, just don't.#SEO #AI

It looks like many Google users are annoyed with the new AI overviews in search results. They’ve been heading to the Google Web Search Help forums trying to figure out how to turn these off. There's even a Chrome plugin that will do it.This is very interesting for the future of AI-integrated search results. TikTok has announced that it will also adopt a digital watermark known as Content Credentials to label AI-generated images and videos, aligning with other tech giants to promote transparency.Hopefully, these changes will help lead to a correction. People will crave more organic, authentic content. They might even be more vigilant about fake content.Of course, this only applies to externally generated AI content. Using TikTok's native tools is fine.Concerns about AI interference in U.S. elections led 20 tech companies, including TikTok, to pledge stronger protective measures. OpenAI, Google and Meta will also use the Content Credentials watermark to verify AI content.If done right, this can only be a good thing.#AI #ContentTransparency #DigitalEthics

In UX research, it's easy to drown in data and lose the narrative. It's crucial to step back and ask: What does this data actually mean and where are the opportunities?A quick example:“Our user testing data tells us that 4/8 users struggled to find the field for the coupon code in the checkout form”So what? “They couldn't apply the code we sent them for the Spring sale, so they dropped off.”This illustrates the consequence but what about the opportunity?“Making the coupon code field more obvious at checkout would increase the conversion rate for users with coupon codes by up to 100%”Data needs interpretation, expansion and storytelling to have meaningful impact.#UXResearch #DataStorytelling #UserExperience
